My introduction to the yachting industry was 22 years ago, sailing from New Zealand to France and on to Turkey as mate on a 60 foot Jongert. It is here I joined one of the most beautiful Feadships of the time, and began my journey onboard some of the world’s most prestigious yachts with some of the finest professionals in yachting.
After 10 years of life onboard I transferred shore side as a member of the management team for Oneworld challenge for the Americas Cup 2003 where my role was the logistics/operations manager in both New Zealand and the United States of America.
Shortly after the wrap up of the Americas Cup campaign, one of my first projects was for a newly formed yacht management and brokerage company, and involved the completion and delivery of another Feadship at the De Vries yard in Holland. Further projects followed in Germany and Spain which ultimately led to a 2 year posting to the Gulf region as director of operations for a state fleet and finally as director of yacht management based in Monaco.
I have a strong Polynesian heritage and as such my formative years were spent in the Cook Islands, Samoa and New Zealand where I studied a degree in Hotel Management which continues to provide my drive for exemplary service standards and common sense management solutions.
The call of the Pacific after so long abroad was too great and we recently relocated back to New Zealand to raise our young family. It is here that I co-founded Marinelogix with my business partner and the journey continues ...
